Don’t Pay Your Taxes!

Humberto

Smell that?

Yeah, it’s a fresh new year! The resolutions have been made, the fresh starts have begun, and the auld acquaintances have been forgot. (I should really look into the meaning of those lyrics one of these years…)

Not to mention we’ve got the war on terror, the caucusing, and the piggy-bank burglars to keep us distracted. (I’ll let someone else report on that last one.)

But I’m not here to talk about any of that.

Very shortly, we Americans should begin to get our W-2s in the mail. Now, I sincerely hope that each and every one of you has a big fat refund on the way, but if not, fret not. I have a solution for you.

DON’T PAY YOUR TAXES!

Sound too good to be true? Afraid that the IRS will send out their hell hounds to drag you away to Federal “pound-me-in-the-ass” Prison? Well……..they might try. However, according to Aaron Russo, (you might know him as the the Producer of “Trading Places” starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy) there is nothing in the IRS’s tax code that says that a citizen has to pay a direct unapportioned tax on his/her income. In fact the U.S. Constitution strictly forbids it! In other words, every year (or every mid-April if you’re like me) we mindlessly fill out our 1040s making sure to not make any mistakes for fear of those damn hell hounds. All the while we’re providing all our most intimate details to the government – information the we generally don’t discuss with our co-workers and other people we know, at least on a casual basis. In return, we are supposed to receive information detailing exactly what our taxes are helping to pay for. That would be a direct apportioned tax. The Constitution is cool with that. Instead, we are left to speculate where 30% of our hard earned wages end up.

Any guesses? You in the back, go ahead.

It goes to keeping our schools funded!

Nope. Property tax pays for schools. Anyone else? You in the green hat.

It keeps our freeways maintained?

Uh uh. That’s taken car of by the gas tax. Any other brave souls? You with the superior looking grin on your face!

It’s going towards the war in Iraq, the fight against terrorism and the support of our troops!

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

Amazingly, the entire defense budget is remarkably close to the amount of money in corporate tax on any given year.

So where does it all go…

The Federal Reserve. Yes, that wonderful government department that is responsible for keeping our economy solvent. An organization that has been championed by heroes such as Alan Greenspan without whom we would have surely fallen down the spiral staircase of economic despair. Wait. Go back a couple of sentences. Did you just buy the fact that the Federal Reserve is actually a government run entity. Wow. You’re worse of than I thought. The Fed is nothing more than a collection of bankers in the private sector.

It’s a bank. More specifically, it’s the government’s bank.

Ok. Here’s how it works. Anytime the government needs money, they talk to The Fed. The Fed lends the government some money then later on collects that money with interest. But how do they pay that interest if they’re already borrowing from a bank? Enter Income tax! To sum all of that up, we are all essentially paying The Fed to take our wages.

Angry yet? Yeah, me too. So what do we do. Well, one option is to finish filling out that tax form, then bend over and take it up the tailpipe. Or…….you could stand up for your constitutional rights and disobey “The Man” buy refusing to give another cent to the IRS and damned be the consequences! Too extreme for you? How about seeing past the res vs. blue political polarization that is being used as a smoke screen to keep your attention away from the true rulers of this nation. Write to your political candidates. Tell them that you refuse to vote for any person that will not try to dismantle The Fed. And spread the news.

I realize there is quite a bit of non-cited info in this post. Instead of setting up some sort of crazy bibliography, I’ll just refer you to this website.

I haven’t paid taxes in the U.S. since 1999, and all I had to do is move to Canada. And Ben Co. has never had to pay any stinking corporate taxes. So, I can’t really speak to this…but I will!

All I know is that Canadian taxes all go directly towards a) puppies, b)sunshine, c)health care and d) Muk Muk.

But in the words of the great Oliver Wendell Holmes, “Taxes are what we pay for a civilized society.” So obviously not paying your taxes will make the U.S. even MORE uncivilized, if that is possible.

What are you trying to do, incite some sort of anarchist rebellion? Dirty hippie, you know this is a staid conservative blog.

well what the hell is the Title 26, USC § 1 for then?

Also the gas tax doesn’t cover transportation costs fully, but that’s an entirely different subsidy to deal with.

  3. Humberto says :

    See….Ben’s taxes are apportioned

    Title 26, USC § 1? Title 26, USC § 1?!?

What about Doyle v. Mitchell Brothers Co., 247 U.S. 179 which defines “income” as gains or increase arising from corporate activity – not joe blow’s weekly paycheck.

And Ben, I agree with Oliver Wendell Holmes, and if you care to spend a month or so thumbing through Subtitle D of Internal Revenue Code, 26 U.S.C. § 4001 through 26 U.S.C. § 5000, you will see a seemingly endless list of excise taxes that would, by Mr. Holmes definition, probably make us the most civilized nation on earth.

what about the case of inbred new hampshire-ian(?) vs IRS?

How about executive order 11110 and it’s ramifications for The Fed. (and eventually for JFK)

  6. jimsey says :

^the treasury’s ability to draw against is silver?

  7. Ben says :

Wait, wait, wait…Rob, according to the Doyle V. Mitchell case you reference income is defined as: “as gains or increase arising from corporate activity.” Doesn’t any registered business qualify as a corporation, and thus anyone who makes money (gets a paycheque) is earning income as a result of corporate activity? Even if you are self-employed, assuming you are not working in the black, you are incorporated. So, for example, the money you make at 5th is a result of the corporate activity of “5th Ave. Co.” or whatever it is.

    Jimsey,

Yes, that’s the one. That was signed on June 4 1963. As the silver certificates began to roll out The Fed began to realize that their control of the American economy was waning. By November Kennedy was dead. Of course I’m not suggesting any foul play…

    Ben,

I’ll have to get back to you on that as I’m late for work.

  9. Mikhail says :

I’m telling the Fed’s on you for having this conversation. They’re coming for Humberto as we speak, and you guys need a new argument topic.

  10. Humberto says :

    The Feds? Pshhhh!

I’ll take the Feds over the Fed any day! Besides, thanks to the Patriot Act I’m sure my cell phone is already being monitored.

  11. Mikhail says :

Damn right it’s being monitored, and in your case…for the better you Red Commy bastard!
