Does God Have a Future?

I came across a great series examining the relevancy of God and religion in our current world.  Shadow Democracy has started a 1o part series on the topic, with a new installment coming out each Sunday.

I do not pretend to be anything close to a theologian, or a scholar, or a scholarly theologian, but I always find discussions such as these fascinating.

It seems that for an increasing number of people in their 20s and 30s, traditional forms of religion hold little meaning for them.  For many the continuing extremism of many religions in the United States, the social inflexibility of the Catholic church, and continual religious conflict across the globe call into question whether organized religion in its more traditional forms has run its course

Instead, spirituality is sought in other places – non-traditional religious practices, more ancient religious practices (e.g., the explosion of yoga, Wicca), or something as simple as seeking spirituality in nature.

In any case, all good discussions to be having.  Enjoy!
